CUKashmir holds painting-cum-sketching competition Ganderbal, May 18: As a part of the ongoing International Women’s Day 2024 celebrations by Central University of Kashmir (CUKashmir), a painting-cum-sketching competition was organised at Science Campus Nunar here on Thursday, in which 122 female students from 21 departments of four campuses of the University participated. The theme of the event was, “Strong women, strong world”. Prof. Sandhya Tiwari, Chairperson ICC and International Women’s Day celebrations, Chief Guest of the event, expressed satisfaction and appreciated the efforts of the IWC 2024 Core committee member and coordinator of the competitions, Dr. Ibraq Khurshid. She reminded the young woman about the importance of Fine Arts and the demonstration of exceptional talent and creativity in the pencil sketch and painting competitions. Dr. Ibraq applauded the dedication and skill the girls have brought to the portals of CUKashmir with display of unique and captivating perspective of the theme, enriching the entire creative community. Dr. Ibraq coordinated, conducted and facilitated the event. A panel of judges, Dr. Gulafroz Jan, Dr.Nusrat Jabeen, Dr.Hima Bindu, Dr.Chandrakiran were nominated for selecting best three from each campus and the winners selected at the occasion shall be honoured at the valedictory function on the culmination of the International Women’s Day programmes. The event was graced by Prof. Abid Hamid, Dean School of Life Science and Director Campus, and Prof. Mohammad Yousuf, Dean School of Engineering & Technology. Dr. Muzamil presented a vote of thanks.
