CUET (UG)-2024 Examination commences successfully across the Country and abroad More than 75% candidates attend the examination on Day 1 Examination to be concluded in a record time span of 8 days.
The CUET (UG)-2024 Examination began today at various locations across the Country and abroad. A total of 11.4 lakh candidates had been scheduled to take the exam at 2157 centres in 379 cities on day 1 of the examination this year.
The attendance percentage for today’s examinations is more than 75%.The NTA is conducting the CUET (UG) – 2024 in a hybrid mode, utilizing both CBT and Pen and Paper formats, for approximately 13.48 lakh candidates who have opted for 57,95,211 combinations of subjects.
Of these combinations, 53,91,227, or around 93%, are being conducted in pen and paper mode. On Day 1, the NTA successfully concluded tests for 25,91,014 combinations, completing 44.71% of the CUET (UG) examination.Meticulous planning went into this year’s examination, ensuring that candidates who opted for multiple subjects were scheduled at the same centre.
To avoid any inconvenience, the first two shifts were held in the same examination room.
Additionally, sufficient breaks were provided between shifts to facilitate candidates with multiple subject selections.
Further, NTA had made elaborate arrangements for the conduct of the examination.
Adequate examination functionaries were deployed across the country and abroad to facilitate the smooth and fair conduct of the CUET (UG) -2024 Examination.The examination is being conducted in pen and paper mode in subjects which have seen large registrations this year.
This has significantly reduced the number of days in which the examination is being conducted. In comparison to last year, when the examination spanned over 34 days, this year, the examination is being conducted in 8 days.Numerous measures have been implemented to support the candidates this year.
The examination schedule was announced well in advance, and efforts were made to ensure that candidates were allotted centres near their residences.
All scheduled candidates have been provided with centres as their first choice in their respective home states.
The CUET (UG) provides a single window opportunity to students seeking admission in any of the Central Universities (CUs) or other participating organizations (including State Universities, Deemed and Private Universities) across the Country especially those from rural and other remote areas, help establish better connections with the Universities.
A single Examination enabled the Candidates to cover a wide outreach and be part of the admission process to various Central Universities and other participating Universities.The first day (15 May 2024) of the CUET (UG) -2024 exam is conducted smoothly across most centers in India and abraod
