New Delhi: NTA Director General Subodh Kumar assured that all necessary measures are being taken to address the concerns raised and to uphold the credibility of the NEET UG 2024 examination process.In a recent press conference, the National Testing Agency (NTA) announced that there will be no re-examination for the 25 lakh students who took the NEET UG exam. However, the NTA has formed a committee to investigate the grace marks given to 1,563 candidates, with potential modifications to their results or a re-exam for these candidates if necessary. Additionally, a four-member committee has been established to address the issues faced by approximately 1,600 students at a few centers where time lapses occurred.The NTA confirmed that the integrity of the NEET UG exam remains intact nationwide, and a re-exam will not be conducted for the 25 lakh students who participated. The decision comes after careful consideration of the overall examination process, ensuring that the integrity and fairness of the exam were maintained throughout. A committee has been set up to scrutinize the grace marks awarded to 1,563 candidates. This committee will thoroughly review the circumstances under which these marks were given. Based on the committee’s findings, the results of these students may be altered, or a re-exam may be conducted specifically for them.In response to complaints about time lapses at certain centers, a four-member committee has been formed to investigate these issues. The time lapses were reported at six exam centers, affecting around 1,600 students. The NTA reassured that these instances were isolated and did not compromise the overall examination integrity. The NTA firmly stated that there was no leak of the NEET UG exam paper, maintaining the transparency and fairness of the examination process.To address broader concerns about the exam’s fairness, the NTA will form a grievance redressal committee. This committee will look into various complaints raised by students, parents, and educators, ensuring transparency and addressing any issues related to the exam process. The NTA has chosen to keep the identities of the four-member committee members confidential to ensure an unbiased investigation.NTA Director General Subodh Kumar emphasized that all necessary measures are being taken to address the concerns raised. He assured the public that the NTA is committed to upholding the credibility and integrity of the NEET UG examination process, ensuring that all students are treated fairly and justly.
